1987 Michigan
When Coach Earle Bruce was fired just five days before the
Michigan game, the stage was set for one of Ohio State’s most
emotional and controversial games ever.
The
players came out on a mission to win one for their embattled
leader, but that didn’t stop Michigan from taking the early
13-0 lead. But the Buckeyes responded with a barrage of
their own, going up 20-13.
Michigan
came back to tie the game at 20, but a late-game field goal
gave the Buckeyes the upset victory and Coach Bruce a measure
of vindication.
