Jack Tatum
From 1968 through 1970 there was one name Big Ten offenses
did not want to hear ... Jack Tatum.
In just his third game as a Buckeye, Tatum
locked down Purdue’s Heisman hopeful, Leroy Keyes, to help
spur one of Ohio State’s greatest wins ever.
Opposing teams took their cue and more often
than not, offenses tried their luck on the other side of
the field.
Tatum
was twice named All-American, and as a senior was tabbed
1970’s national defensive player of the year. His hard-hitting
ways only continued in the pros where he was considered
one of the most feared defenders in NFL history.
