25. Hopalong Cassady
He was the pint-sized scooter with a big-time heart. His parents called him Howard, but Buckeye fans knew him as Hopalong.

Cassady scored three touchdowns in his very first game in 1952 to launch one of Ohio State’s most legendary careers and in 1954, He led the Buckeyes to the national title, saving the career of coach Woody Hayes.

Hop became Woody’s workhorse, making big-time plays on both sides of the ball and his grit and determination were fully rewarded in 1955 when he was awarded the Heisman Trophy; securing his place at the heart of Buckeye lore.
