Woody Hayes
All you have to do is say the name Woody and Buckeye fans
know exactly who you’re talking about. And while he the stalked
the Ohio State sidelines for 28 years, he left a legacy that
stretches far beyond football.
On
the field, Hayes led the Buckeyes to three national championships
and 13 Big Ten titles; all achieved with a brute force style
that left opponents dazed and confused.
Hayes’
well-known intensity led to numerous altercations and eventually
cost him his career. But while the nation sometimes saw
Woody at his worst, the people closest to him knew there
was more to the man than met the eye.
