46.
1975 Michigan
When Michigan quarterback Rick Leach plunged across goal late
in the fourth quarter, the 1975 Buckeyes saw their undefeated
and top-ranked season suddenly thrust into serious peril.
With just seven minutes left to play, the Buckeyes offense,
who had no first downs since the first quarter, stormed
back to tie the game, then took the lead after Ray Griffin’s
interception moved the ball all the way to the Wolverine
three-yard line.
The
win, which Woody Hayes called the victory his greatest comeback
ever, put the Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl for a fourth consecutive
year.
