Archie Griffin
Slight in size but stout in heart, Archie Griffin became a
Buckeye in spite of his detractors. Fortunately for fans,
Griffin signed with his hometown team, and the age of Archie
was officially begun.
Archie’s
four years were a magical time of rushing records and post-season
honors, Michigan wins and Rose Bowls galore. But while many
think of Heismans when they hear Griffin’s name, people
in Ohio know that Archie’s about more than just football.
Even
today, Archie remains Ohio State’s most popular player,
and the University’s most visible symbol of what it means
to be a Buckeye.
