1996
Season
At the start of Ohio State’s 1996 season, the prevailing
mood amongst fans and experts was one of hope, tinged
with uncertainty. The team had plenty of talent returning
on defense, but the offense was faced with the prospect
of replacing three first-round draft picks, including
Heisman trophy winner, Eddie George. Of course, the
Buckeyes themselves saw only opportunity, and by the
end of the season they’d staked their claim as one
of Ohio State’s greatest teams ever.
Earle
Bruce
He was the man with the impossible job: to replace
the coach whose name was synonymous with Ohio State
football. But when Earle Bruce’s Buckeyes won eleven
straight games and came within one point of winning
it all in his very first season, he proved he could
coach -- and win -- with the best of them. And before
his tenure came to its controversial close, Bruce
would win more games than any other coach in the Big
Ten and change the way football was played at Ohio
State.
The 2002 Season
For the Ohio State Buckeyes, 2002 was a season so
amazing, you had to see it to believe it. It was a
season of come from behind wins and countless nervous
dramas. Of overtime anxieties and fantastic finishes.
But more than anything, it was a story of over 100
people uniting as one to achieve a Scarlet and Gray
miracle, never to be forgotten.
